Artist Statement
I experience art as process. It is not something I make. It is something I enter, something I am moved by, something I move with.
I walk between worlds, crossing thresholds between what can be felt and what can be said. Much of my work sits below language, in sensation, rhythm, breath, image, and relational field. I spend time there, allowing experience to unfold without interruption. Then, slowly, I return. Not to define or reduce, but to translate. I am interested in how language and image shape consciousness, how meaning takes form, and how something lived can be carried across that threshold without losing its depth.
My creative practice is polysensate. It moves through contact improvisation, aquatic dance where gravity softens and the body reorganizes, circle singing where the voice becomes shared space, ecstatic dance and drumming where rhythm reshapes perception. These are not separate modalities, but interwoven ways of staying in relationship with life as it moves.
The environments I create with others are an extension of the artistic process. I approach learning spaces as living works of art, co-created in real time with the people present, the land, the water, and the subtle ancestral dynamics that shape the field. Nothing is fixed. Each gathering becomes a temporary composition of attention, sensation, and meaning. Something that cannot be replicated, only entered.
Alongside this, I maintain a daily drawing practice rooted in somatic insight and Jungian active imagination, where body, breath and image lead, and I follow. I allow what is unconscious to take form without rushing to interpret or assign language it. My visual work emerges from the same place. Every image on this website is my own, a continuation of this listening, a way of tracking relationship through light, texture, and presence in the more-than-human world.
Writing weaves through it all. It gathers what has been lived and sensed and gives it form without closing it down. It is a bridge between worlds. At the center of everything is a commitment to remain permeable, to let experience move through the body, the senses, and the imagination, and to return with something that can be shared while still carrying the timeless, wordless depth of where it first took shape.
